ESL Supplies Alaska Railroad with Wayside Power Cabinets
ESL’s Wayside Power Cabinets enable locomotive engines to be shut down and run from a plug-in power supply. Eliminating idling of a locomotive’s diesel engine reduces the number of toxins released into the environment.
Alaska Railroad is currently upgrading the Seward Depot to include ESL’s Wayside Power Cabinets. Once installed, ESL’s Wayside Power Cabinets (or Wayside Outlet Boxes) will allow the power needed to support food and beverage service aboard the train to be supplied from a plug-in power supply adjacent to the track.
ESL’s Wayside Cabinets can be customized to meet varying power requirements and are built to APTA and Amtrak D77-24 Specifications. In addition, ESL’s wayside power equipment provides operators with safe and simple operating procedures.
